The Flower of Life
The Sea
is magic; it has the power to make us think what we like to think. At dawn and
dusk, the union of the Sun and the Sea creates a soul-stirring kaleidoscope of
blues, golds, and lavenders. It is a
The Enamoured Sun and the Mysterious Sea
mesmerizing work of art from Nature. I
become entranced by it.
The Sea responds to the light from the Sun in
fascinating ways: silver at dawn, green at noon, dark blue in the evening. At
times, the Sea looks as if it were on fire. Occasionally, it is the tantalizing
colour of gold coins. The play of light and water with white sand creates infinite
but ephemeral compositions that never fail to amaze me.
The Gossiping Waves
The
motion and rhythm of the Sea are the very fabric of the Universe. The Sea
manifests herself in many forms in our Universe. In my paintings, the Sea becomes
an enigmatic female figure, or a pair of gossiping waves.
The waves of the Ocean speak to the soul
Hindu mythology has
also exerted a strong influence on my works. The Sea repeatedly occurs in many
myths and is depicted as a female Goddess.
The Cosmic Leela
These
manifestations of the Sea are entangled with another entity—the Sun. Sometimes,
the Sun is the companion of the Sea; at other times, the Sun is the image of
Vishnu, surrounded by the Sea. This interplay of the Sun/God and the
Sea/Goddess forms the core of my thoughts. The world around us is just a play
of light and motion of the Sun and the Sea. They are the primal forces of fire
and water, and Life is possible only because of them.
The Supreme God
INVERSION
The
energies found in the boundless blue are never-ending-one has to but churn the
ocean, and the Sea will reveal the countless treasures hidden within.
