The display

“The Silent Ocean” is a display of paintings that present just one aspect of the havoc mankind has wreaked on Nature.

Mankind has, for its own selfish ends and limitless greed, cut down forests, destroyed mountains and changed the course of rivers and is inexorably wiping them off the face of the Earth.
However, the Silent Ocean, despite the cruelties inflicted on it by mankind, is silently enduring the exploitation and continues to retain its serenity in its unfathomable depths and is fated to a timeless search for its identity. Occasionally it reveals its vicious face.

On The horizon : An emerging scenario
Of turmoil and chaos

On the surface we see the play of the waves, the colorful mosaic of the sunlight, but its depths harbor a boundless peace. It is like the wordless and soundless peace generated by the meditative inner chanting of holy words by a thousand sages. At the same time, the rays of the sun illumine and reveal the fascinating beauty it hides. The golden and multihued fish cavorting in the clear waters are a sight to behold and treasure.

In my paintings the use of wavy lines and layers upon layers of colors signifies the transparency of the waters and the fusion of light and motion. The intertwining of blue and red colors stands for the interplay of the Sun and the Sea – the eternal cosmic interplay of matter and energy. The gold and silver fish flaunt their beauty and joyful life in their own way.

This painting has shadeds of green blues and reds with the waves like pattern with the fish depicts the flow of the sea. Looking more closely you will also come to notice that there are dancing fish in blue colour in background. Apart from that the melting red colour that advances from the top of the canvas is the Sun which is descending inside the cool and calm Sea; to shed light on the hidden beauty of the Sea
